Kayrros has a strong science and technology team of more than 150 experts, including more than 100 MSc and 20-plus PhDs, working on multiple industry challenges by leveraging innovative geospatial technology. LEADERSHIP
The founders and leaders of Kayrros represent a powerful mix of long-term experience in academia, finance and industry.
Antoine Rostand – President and Founder
Prior to co-founding Kayrros, Antoine was president and founder of the Schlumberger Energy Institute, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to energy-transition technology that has now become the Kearney Energy Transition Institute. Antoine was also president and founder of Schlumberger Business Consulting, SBC, and had a key role in the development of the business into one of the leading international energy-sector management consultant firms. From 1999 to 2002 Antoine was president of Electronic Data Systems in France.
Alexandre d’Aspremont – Founder
Alexandre helps Kayrros maintain its edge in the use of machine learning. He is a CNRS senior researcher and professor in the computer science department at Ecole Normale Superieure. He holds PhDs from both Stanford University and Ecole Polytechnique and is scientific director of the MASH machine learning MSc at ENS and Université Paris Dauphine.
Antoine Halff – Founder
Antoine blends understanding of the energy sector from corporate, governmental and academic perspectives. He is a former chief oil analyst of the International Energy Agency and a former lead industry economist at the US Energy Information Administration, part of the US Department of Energy. He has worked as head of commodities research at Newedge, the brokerage arm of Société Générale. In addition to his work at Kayrros, he directs the global oil markets program at Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy.
Jean-Michel Lasry – Founder
Jean-Michel is a world-class quantitative finance theoretician with deep business experience. He is a professor at Paris-Dauphine University and a co-founder and CEO of MFG Labs. Having worked as head of the quantitative team at BNP Paribas, Jean-Michel is very aware of the demands of the finance sector.
Laurent El-Ghaoui – Founder
Laurent is a leading academic in computing. He is a professor of electrical engineering and computer sciences at UC Berkeley, and holds a PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford and an MSc from Ecole Polytechnique in France. He has significant experience of the finance sector having worked as a quantitative analyst for SAC Capital Management.

Andrew GOULD – Advisory Board Chairman
There are few people better known in the energy sector than Andrew. He is a member of the board of directors at Saudi Arabian Oil Company having formerly been non-executive chairman and a non-executive director of BG Group. He has also acted as CEO and chairman of Schlumberger. In addition to his work at Kayrros, Andrew is a member of the supervisory board of DEA, a German exploration and production company, and a member of the board of BJ Services, a North American pressure pumping company. Andrew is also a member of the board of trustees at King Abdullah University for Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia. He is a former member of the development advisory board at the Royal Academy of Engineering and is chairman of the Oxford Energy Policy Club.
Lord BROWNE OF MADINGLEY – Advisory Board
John is one of the most experienced business leaders in the global energy sector. He is best known for his role as the CEO of BP between 1995 and 2007. During his tenure, he merged the business with Amoco and Arco, gained access to Russian oil reserves, and increased BP’s interests in renewable energy. In 2000 he was the first recipient of the Responsible Capitalism Award. Between 2010 and 2015 he was the UK Government’s lead non-executive director, charged with recruiting business leaders to reformed departmental boards. He is a former president of the Royal Academy of Engineering and sits as a crossbencher in the House of Lords in the UK. He was elected a fellow of the Royal Society in 2006. He is the Co-Founder and Chairman of General Atlantic’s BeyondNetZero, a growth equity climate fund, Chairman of SparkCognition and Windward and Co-Chairman of the UK Prime Minister’s Council on Science and Technology.
Jose SCHEINKMAN – Advisory Board
Jose is a highly regarded economist and financial thinker. He is the Charles and Lynn Zhang professor of economics at Columbia University, the Theodore A. Wells ‘29 professor of economics (emeritus) at Princeton University, and a research associate at the National Bureau of Economics Research. Previously, Jose was the Alvin H. Baum Distinguished Service professor and chairman of the department of economics at the University of Chicago. He was also vice president in the financial strategies group of Goldman Sachs and co-editor of the Journal of Political Economy. He has served as a consultant to several financial institutions and serves on the board of Cosan Limited.
Andre LEVY-LANG – Advisory Board
Andre is a leading academic with great experience of business and finance. He is the former CEO and chairman of the management board of BNP Paribas and holds a PhD in business administration from Stanford University. As well as sitting on the Kayrros advisory board, Andre is the president and founder of the Institut Louis Bachelier and an affiliate professor of finance (Emeritus) at Paris-Dauphine University. He is also chairman of the supervisory board at Les Echos and vice-chairman of the supervisory board at Rothschild & Co. In addition, he is president of the Fondation du Risque.

Xavier Daguzan – Chief Revenue Officer
Xavier brings 25 years of experience in running international business teams in enterprise-grade software, working with some of the largest companies in the world. Prior to joining Kayrros in 2022, Xavier held several C-level management and sales positions at Oracle, Fidelity Investments, IBM, Talentsoft and Meta4. Xavier holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut.
